I wanna be your Fantasy (Island)
I'm doing some 4"x4" pieces for fun...I know it's a "BIGGER IS BETTER"world but I've always been a fan of the little things. Viewing some 14th century middle eastern work through a magnifying glass recently was particularly inspiring~ the details were tantalizing! WTF did they paint with?! A single hair by candle light most likely, having fasted into some sort of transcendental state. I'm not quite there but this is what I came up with...

Permanent Vacation
I've come to a realization: I should retire(as in no longer work!) Can't I just paint,garden,cook,smoke,play with puppies&drink tea? Perhaps some afternoon delight,stretching&a snuggle nap...dreamy. I've been quite inspired&productive-just not to get a job. Anyone out there who want's a housewife- I will take care of business! Blowjobbing to baby bearing with a smile on my face&a song in my farts. Anyhew,untill that glorious day this is what I've been up to...

Nesting
I made this stone "nest" today for the drain in our backyard from rocks&an old cracked flower pot. Though it dosen't rain much in SoCA when it does this area get's flooded,so hopefully this will help...any excuse to play with rocks! It's also SO much more fufilling to beautify your surroundings when the land belongs to your family¬ some slum lord(fuck that noise.)

Best Coast
I've started to learn how to make mosaics from an old friend Kirstin*&am helping her with beautiful seaweed&mirror fish shower piece.She works out of a "dungeon" in our old High School- it's trippy! I've also been enjoying the sky(my new house has a great view,)playing with babies,watching too much TV&drinkng alot of tea. On a bad note my beloved pigdog Tipsy has been very ill with an enlarged heart,fluid in her lungs,anemia&a skin infection. She's on a perscription diet&9 pills daily&her vet bills are adding the fuck up yo! At least my vet is silver fox handsome&has a soothing manner.

Service the Industry
I've been working at my present employer for almost five years-during that time I've watched it morph from a happy "family" into a corporate soap opera. Gone are the days of good times,sharing&caring-also gone are most of my beloved coworkers&the sense of teamwork really making the dream work. Fear of corprate overlords is the new banner hanging from the rafters,gossip the muzak constantly droning mindlessly in the background. Between "Secret Shoppers"&just the usual "I had a stressful day/life so I'm going to take it out on this Server/Peon"waiting on tables there has become hellish&for the most part unprofitable(10-15% not including drinks is the new 20%,thanks Oprah.) Worst of all is the trickle down of being shit on: The Big Dicks shit on the little dicks who shit on the rest of us to feel better about being shit on in the 1st place. I learned long ago to adhere the old adage "Don't shit where you eat"&in this situation that applies to a number of things:Don't fuck your coworkers&don't fuck your coworkers over for starters. I can only hope to move on from serving the industry to bettering myself,because 20 years is a long time waiting on others.

I had contributed the Canvas Project 3 with a Triptic for the given words EXHALE,ANTIPODES&FREEWAY a few months back but this latest body of work is much more involved. I'm trying to recreate the look&feel of one of my many "Black Books" from years past...sketchbooks that traveled&lived with me. #99 Chad VanGaalen - Willow Tree
I love Chad Van Gaalen&everything he does as an artist&musician(including every word that I've ever heard come out of his mouth.)When I saw him preform this song live I cried like a baby-he had no strap for his banjo&was standing like a crane holding it up with his leg. Afterwords when I went over to thank him for playing we had a moment...he is a warm,lovely human with the most perfect teeth I've ever seen in my life. To think he comes up with all this shit alone in his basement in Canada is pretty mind blowing.

Granted much of my work is sexual in nature,but then again most of LIFE is sexual nature&for the record this is a Tattoo Shop/Gallery wherein one must be 18+ to ENTER. Clearly all my work is not "Graphic" so I am unsure as to why they didn't even talk to me before rejecting my having a showing on that basis.It's frustrating for me as an artist to be sitting on a huge body of work with NOWHERE (non virtual) to show...So I'll just keep slapping it up here on you my friend,the INTERWEB.
